Chris Tucker Sued for Netflix Comedy Special
Chris Tucker should be celebrating this week, but instead the comedian has been has been hit with a lawsuit for his Netflix stand-up comedy special set to debut this Friday.
Comedian Terry Hodges is suing both the movie streaming service and Tucker, claiming he’s been heavily involved in Tucker’s special. Hodges says he and Chris started working on the material, which he says he edited, wrote, produced and acted in, in 2008.
According to TMZ, Hodges claims he racked up $66,000 in fees, by traveling to cities across the country. He also says that he hasn’t been regularly paid since 2011. In addition to these allegations, Hodges claims that Tucker was supposed to make him co-producer of the project; a move that would have entitled Hodges to some pay from the production.
“This lawsuit is absurd and completely without merit,” said Tucker’s attorney Marty Singer. “We fully expect this case to be thrown out by the court.”
