Chris Rock New Social Experiment?
Chris Rock is no stranger to using his celebrity platform to address and identify cases of racial profiling and mistreatment.
Rock addresses the subject often in both his comedic appearances and interviews. During an episode of Seinfield’s, Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee, the two entertainers were pulled over by the police for speeding to which Rock, part-jokingly, said: “If you weren’t here, I’d be scared. Yeah, I’m famous – still Black. Right now, I’m looking for my license right now.”
Chilling truth to Rock’s statement.
Recently, Rock has been documenting his run-ins with police. So far? He’s been pulled over by cops three times in the last two months. A Black man in a nice car? We could assume that to be the reason. However, no full details on these encounters have been disclosed. The most recent social media upload was accompanied by a caption that read: “Stopped by the cops again wish me luck.”
Social experiment? Could be.
Will there be a resolve? Eh…wishful thinking.
Whatever Chris’ purpose, I doubt it will hinder his position in Hollywood. He openly addresses race and adding selfies to the mix is just another medium to further showcase what Black men endure on a daily basis.
