The wait is almost over! Chris Brown finally has a release date for his upcoming album X.

On the singer’s Instagram page, he posted a photo of the cover art with “September 16” plastered in the middle.

In the last year, the project has been pushed back several times due to Breezy’s legal woes, but he’s managed to keep the hits coming.

His single “Loyal” recently reached platinum status, and his latest song “New Flame,” which features Usher and Rick Ross, is heading up the charts.

When Brown was featured on our cover back in October, he broke down the meaning of the album title.

“I always try to make music that’s relevant, but at the same time different from whatever is on the radio. My album was supposed to be called Carpe Diem, basically living in the moment. But as I was progressing in the studio I changed it to X. To me it means being able to be the good and bad guy in people’s eyes.”
