An Intimate Evening With Chris Brown
In preparation for release of his seventh studio album: Royalty, Chris Brown announced three performance dates in varying cities, hosted by LiveNation, last week.
Brown’s three show performances came as a shock and disappointment to many when they learned he wouldn’t be coming to a city near them. With such a limited show there was even question of his venue choices, all intimate spaces, none hailing in comparison to his usual arena filled spaces.
Kicking off the first of his intimate shows, Brown performed at the elegantly designed Aragon Ballroom in Chicago.
Settings aside, Brown honestly used the intimate space to his advantage. Before gracing the stage, the ‘Liquor’ singer kept us entertained with a musical set by none other than Michael Jackson.
As attendees sang and swayed along to anthems of ‘PYT’ and ‘Rock With You’, it wasn’t long before chants of “we want Chris Brown” began to ring through the building.
Once Brown smoothly hit the stage, bright lights and dance moves in tact, he did not disappoint. He serenaded his fans with hits such as Run It and Poppin’ from earlier in his career and weaved into his present day radio hits such as Love More and Back to Sleep, all of which were met with fans singing along word for word when not heavily screaming due to his flirtatious pelvic thrusting.
The night was filled with a great balance of new and old, ballads and dance pop. Before closing out the energetic show, Brown stopped to personally thank his fans for coming out and supporting him through the good and the bad.
Royalty is available everywhere on Dec. 18, but if you make a stop through Wal-Mart, you can pick the album up early!
