Chris Brown A Suspect in Vegas Battery Incident
Singer Chris Brown has been named a suspect in a battery incident that happened during the early hours on Monday, May 4, according to Las Vegas police.
The “Yo” singer was identified as the man who allegedly assaulted another man during a basketball game at the Palms Casino Resort, reports Billboard.
The man was treated for non life-threatening injuries, which were allegedly sustained after an argument that led to a physical fight between him and the singer.
According the Las Vegas police, others in addition to Brown assaulted the man. A press release states that after the first hit, “the victim prepared to defend himself and was then hit by another male reportedly with Brown.”
“Mr. Brown has been given the option of signing a citation for misdemeanor battery, or having the case submitted to the Clark County District Attorney’s Office for prosecution,” the press release reads. “As of this release, the LVMPD has not heard from Mr. Brown or his attorney indicating whether or not he would sign the citation.”
Brown just got off of probation in March for the 2009 assault of his then-girlfriend Rihanna. He served two and a half months in rehab before being released last June.
