Chance The Rapper is Already Having a Lit 2017!
Chance The Rapper really is some kind of wonderful. Navigating the industry on his own terms, the Chi-town representer has successfully used his platform and popularity to carry the city on his back and provide youth with a vision toward possibilities outside of their everyday environments.
From returning to the city monthly to host the ritual Open Mike events at the Harold Washington Library, to leading millennials to the voting booth, and creating a spiritual album that’s landed him amongst Grammy nominees and performances on late-night television, Chance has proven to be the people’s champ.
And if his 2016 didn’t raise the bar for others, the moves Lil’ Chano from 79th is making in 2017 definitely deserve another applause.
The 23-year-old star is making history as a board member of Chicago’s DuSable Museum of African American History. According to the Chicago Tribune, his membership comes as part of a shakeup in oversight at the museum, located on the city’s South Side.
Chance’s father, Ken Bennett is also slated to join the board in late January.
