Celebrities React to Ferguson Decision
Hearts sank in chests and tensions flared as we all tuned in to watch St. Louis County Prosecutor Robert McCulloch read the grand jury’s decision not to indict Darren Wilson. We finally had confirmation of our worst fears: There would be no trial for the officer who fatally shot unarmed teen Michael Brown on August 9.
The anger and unjust of the decision fumed across social media and while the parents of Michael Brown encouraged peaceful protests, the night did not go without volatile actions.
It is at times like these, celebrities have the opportunity to use their platform to address systematic failures and/or their personal societal views.
Here’s a round-up of some stars who used their voice and platform to spread messages and send love to Ferguson and the family of Mike Brown.
