Rap artist Bun B of UGK has teamed up with hip-hop columnist Shea Serrano to produce the creative and surprisingly witty “Bun B’s Jumbo Coloring and Rap Activity Tumblr.” It is described as “one of those coloring books that kids have, except way less boring.” But it’s not for kids, they warn.

The site includes portraits of popular rappers –such as Nicki Minaj and Tupac–sketched by  Serrano and curated by Bun B.  Sometimes there are instructions such as, “The Game is sad. He wants a new tattoo. Draw him one that covers up his butterfly.” Users can download and print the pages to color.

“We’re trying to be true to the artist, and make it a fun experience for everybody,” Serrano tells the New York Daily News’ blog Page Views. “We thought this was the best way to get the word out, and eventually we want this to get to print.”

The drawings are also accompanied by songs to inspire your inner Picasso.

“Some people may not necessarily know the artist, and it gets them closer to the experience,” Bun B says.

The Tumblr has only been active for a month now, but the response has been overwhelmingly positive. The duo aspires to put the collection into a book and hopes other artists will want to join in on the fun.
