Need a Laugh? Read #HowToughAmIBlackEdition

Mondays can be hard, right? It’s the first day back after a (hopefully) restful weekend full of Netflix binging, summer cookouts, time with the fam, and boozy brunches. For many people, Mondays are their least favorite day of the week, but today, Black Twitter is coming through to make it just a little bit better.

I’m not exactly sure what inspired @MellowSnorlax to start the hashtag #HowToughAmIBlackEdition, but it’s straight up comedy.

Full of “toughness,” the tag imagines clapbacks between a mom and a child that–let’s be real–probably only happened in most folks’ head.

Remember how annoyed you felt that you had to do the dishes and clean the house before your parents got home? Yup…Twitter discussed it. And remember how you wished you could tell your mother how you REALLY felt about something they said or did? That made the list too. Remember how you felt when you forgot to take the chicken out of the freezer? It’s all in here.

The thing that makes #HowToughAmIBlackEdition so hilarious is that most of us can relate, even if we were tough enough (or foolish enough?) to respond in such a snarky way.

Anyway, it’s Monday, and we know you need the laughs, so take a look at some of our favs.
