Black Film Critics Circle Honors ‘Creed’

Creed was one of the most anticipated movies of the year, and it lived up to all of the hype.

Many organizations have given the Ryan Coogler-directed project a thumbs up. And now, the Black Film Critics Circle is singing its praises, too, by giving the project its top honor – Film of the Year.

Starring Michael B. Jordan, Tessa Thompson and Sylvester Stallone, the seventh installment of Rocky follows an aspiring athlete who happens to be the illegitimate son of boxing champion Apollo Creed.

Jordan won best actor, and his co-stars Thompson and Stallone took home supporting actress and actor awards.

Other flicks to receive accolades include Straight Outta Compton, Beasts of No Nation and The Martian.
