Thanks to the success of Straight Outta Compton, a flick about rap group N.W.A., biopics documenting some of the greatest hip-hop legends are a hot commodity.
According to Deadline, Universal is mulling over a film about Def Jam Recordings and its founders Russell Simmons and Rick Rubin.
It’s also rumored that Michael B. Jordan and Jonah Hill could snag the leading roles as Simmons and Rubin, respectively.
Based on the book, Life and Def: Sex, Drugs, Money, + God, the movie would focus on the famous record label that dominated the rap game in the 1980s.
