Queen Bey is likely making space in her awards room (we imagine she has one of those) for her next plaque, because her surprise self-titled album has officially gone double platinum.
Spawning hits including “Drunk in Love,” “XO” and “Partition,” the superstar’s fifth effort caught everyone off-guard when she released the project without any prior announcements or promotion.
Beyoncé, which contains 14 songs and 17 videos, broke records when it became the fastest-selling album in iTunes Store history, selling more than 800,000 copies in just three hours.
Not only does the album joins her other four that have reached multi-platinum status, but the power move also helped the “Run the World” singer snag the number-one spot on this year’s Forbes list.
Catch her On the Run with her partner-in-crime, Jay-Z, when she comes through your city this summer.
