BET Under Fire for B. Scott Controversy

The BET vs. B. Scott saga continues.

Gossip outlet TMZ has reportedly uncovered some internal emails and texts between executives at the cable network regarding the transgender TV personality’s appearance. As you may recall, Scott is suing BET and its parent company Viacom for “discrimination on the basis of gender identity, gender expression and sexual orientation.”

During last year’s BET Awards, Scott said he was forced by the network to change from a feminine outfit into a more masculine one while serving as the style stage correspondent. BET issued a statement citing the incident as a “misunderstanding;” however, according to TMZ, BET Music Programming Prez Stephen Hill wrote: “I don’t want ‘looking like a woman B Scott.’  I want tempered B Scott.” And another executive offered to ensure the host looked “less womanly.”

The exchanges go on to imply the network attempted to cover up or spin the scenario, citing Scott was late for a live show. To read the full story, please click HERE. Then let us know what you think about the situation in the comments!
