After writing up our current cover story featuring Taye Diggs, Sanaa Lathan and Nia Long, JETmag.com’s Managing Editor Kyra Kyles, got the opportunity to talk to even more members of the hotly anticipated Best Man sequel during a whirlwind junket in Los Angeles.
She sat down in L.A. with Morris Chestnut, Monica Calhoun, Terrence Howard, Melissa De Sousa, Harold Perrineau and Regina Hall to talk about their character arcs and get a little scoop on what audiences can expect as the film comes out Friday (Nov.15). Check out a few highlights and, believe us, we’ve got even more in store.
Sidenote: And if you haven’t yet bought a ticket to see Best Man Holiday, do it. It’s just as good, maybe even better, than the first. You won’t regret the investment in this awesome rom com. Now, for some words from the stars:
HAROLD PERRINEAU ON “SHELBY” VS “CANDY”
Everybody knows that Perrineau’s character, Murch, unceremoniously dumped the shrewish Shelby in the original film, but when he sees her again for the holidays, does he have any regrets? Find out here:
REGINA HALL ON CONFRONTING “SHELBY”
Will “Candy” go from exotic dancer to prize fighter? Find out what happens between her character and Melissa De Sousa’s when you check out the film. We won’t spoil anything, but hear the gorgeous comedic actress explain how she prepped for their inevitable showdown.
MELISSA DE SOUSA ON BEING THE BAD GIRL
“Shelby” attracted many eye rolls and oh-no-the-hell-she-didn’ts in the first movie and definitely in the sequel. How does the lovely, reserved actress really feel about being the villain?
TERRENCE HOWARD ON Q’S MARRIAGE VIEWS
Q is that devilish friend that will get you in trouble listening to him and his he-man woman hater club views on the opposite sex, but does he have a soft spot? The actor spills on whether he sees Q going down anybody’s aisle in the near future.
