Ava DuVernay, Oprah Winfrey Together Again
Are Ava DuVernay and Oprah Winfrey becoming the new content tag team?
It appears so.
After the critical success and buzzed about ‘Selma’ the two creatives are joining forces once again for a new drama series set to air on Winfrey’s OWN network.
Oprah is co-creator and co-star on this effort, a project inspired by Natalie Baszile’s novel, Queen Sugar, reports TV Line.com.
The storyline follows a woman who trades her upscale Los Angeles livelihood to return to Louisiana to take care of her deceased father’s 800-acre rural farm.
DuVernay will write, direct and executive produce the drama. The venture marks her first television series.
