An ABC Family-Friendly Nicki Minaj?

Femcee Nicki Minaj sure knows how to expand her brand.

From world tours, to fragrances, a clothing line and being a brand ambassador for Myxx Moscato, Minaj can now officially add leading actress and executive producer to her lengthy entrepreneurial resumé.

In collaboration with ABC Family, the Trinidadian artist has landed a TV pilot series based on her upbringing in Queens, New York with her “vibrant immigrant family,” reports Deadline.

As an alumni of LaGuardia High School in Manhattan, Nicki has always been vocal about her desires to be an actress and booked a vocal role in Ice Age: Continental Drift,  along with a supporting role in The Other Woman.

The rapper of many “voices” also recently wrapped production for MGM’s Barbershop 3.

In addition to growing her film experience, Nicki’s co-hosting stint on Saturday Night Live, may have given ABC Family executives further incentive to give the new comedic series a green light.

Peep Nic below.

“Nicki is an international superstar, yet not everyone knows how inspiring and hilarious her true story is,” ABC Family’s EVP Programming and Development told Deadline.”We can’t wait to share it with the world.”

The upcoming series is currently untitled, but will bring together the creative minds of Kate Angelo (Sex Tape), Aaron Kaplan (Kapital Entertainment), and Nicki Minaj to deliver a comedic look into the backstory of Minaj’s rise to stardom with her family in tow.

“This is one of the more unique adventures I’ve ever embarked on,” Minaj expressed. “I couldn’t be more proud and excited to team up with an amazing group of people to give the world something really special.”

It’s obvious that Nicki is in pilot mode as she continues to build her empire.
