The African American Film Critics Association (AAFCA) is observing the 25th anniversary of Boyz N the Hood and New Jack City with an all-star tribute and concert.
Taking place next year during the organization’s annual awards ceremony, the event will honor the filmmakers who were a part of the projects including Boyz N the Hood director John Singleton.
“Hip-hop has had a global impact on pop culture and influenced millions around the world,” Gil Robertson, the association’s president and co-founder, said in a statement.
He continued, “And its impact on Hollywood has been a major game-changer in front of and behind the camera and at box office.”
The affair is set for Feb. 10 at the Taglyan Complex in Hollywood. Details on the show’s lineup will be announced at a later date.
