Prepare to get your lives fixed by… a photo.
Well, not really, but our lives are definitely brightened after a certain someone paid us a visit.
The guidance guru Iyanla Vanzant stopped by Johnson Publishing for an informal, relaxed chat about her new OWN show, her goals in helping people heal and tips for finding purpose in your life. Here are but a few of the gems she imparted, for your reading pleasure.
(1) You know you’re fulfilling your purpose if it is something you’d do regardless of receiving/not receiving compensation or recognition.
(2) It’s not your purpose if the only person benefiting from it is you.
(3) Purpose and your job are separate, though in this society we confuse the two.
Can I get an amen? After that bit of motivation and insight, JET staffers here in the Chicago office jumped at the opportunity (some of us, literally) to take a photo with one of Oprah Winfrey’s go-to-gurus and host of “Iyanla, Fix My Life.”
Here we are beaming below.
