Our fairy-Godmother of perfect afros uses drugstore hair products.
Behind every stunning woman is a cheap AF hair product. Tracee Ellis Ross has blessed us with details about the drugstore hair products that she uses on her hair. The star of Blackish and forever-nostalgic-fave, Girlfriends, puts Pantene’s Gold Series hair collection onto her curls. No one can deny that Tracee’s hair always looks enviable whether in full afro mode or a cute set of cornrows.
Hairstylist, Chuck Amos, did her hair at the Met Gala which is where we got all of the details. He went with a runway bun on Tracee’s hair that was inspired by Japanese artist, Kenzo Okada’s painting, The Stream. The updo was accented with blue-painted bobby pins that were clipped below the hair bun.
He also shared the products that he used in Tracee’s hair which included Pantene Gold Series Hydrating Butter Creme and Intense Hydrating Oil. The formulas include Aragan Oil and promise hydration for at least 72 hours. The Hydrating Butter Creme can be used to detangle and set the hair while the Hydrating Oil provides shine. They are both $7.99 from target.com.
