When I first started modeling and competing in beauty pageants, I barely had enough money to put together a decent wardrobe, let alone buy beauty products. I was lucky, though, because my pageant coaches and a few of my (nicer) competitors shared beauty tips and secrets that I still hold dear to me this very day.

I’d raid my kitchen cabinets for fruits and vegetables, sea salt, sugar and whatever else I could get my hands on to create a replica of an expensive department store body or face scrub. And boy, if I had a dime for every over-the-top concoction that I’ve mixed, I certainly could’ve purchased that $250 “miracle” moisturizer, or whatever else claimed to rid cellulite.

Take a look at some of my favorite (and kinda crazy) unconventional beauty tips that I’ve used on and off of the runway all for the sake of beauty, and feel free to weigh in! What’s some of the craziest things you’ve ever used or done to look and feel your best?
