Welcome to Beauty School!  Every Monday, JET experts will teach you how to preserve your sexy.  This week, make-up and hair expert Dre Brown shares her favorite indie lip products.

So often I find myself in search of “off the beaten path” solutions for my beauty boredom. Whether I’m “over” my mainstream mainstays or itching for something unique and fresh, I enjoy uncovering new products from emerging or “indie” beauty brands.

Since I find myself wearing less makeup in the Summer, I focused my most recent product scout on lips — for keeping them poppin’ and pucker-ready is always in season! Check out some of my new discoveries below and give these brands and products a little lip-service of your own. Enjoy . . .

My Beauty Addiction HD Lip Paint ($5.50,

They don’t call this jar of lip luster HD for nothing! Dye-based for ultra intense color, this lip color is boldly built to last.

Au Naturale “Wild Lotus” Lip Gloss ($15,

Purple lips aren’t just hot amidst blooming Spring florals. Layer on a rich sheer orchid tone with this organic gloss designed for a natural spin on vivid color.

Doucce “Sexy Copper” Click Click Lipstick ($24,

Why let your tan be the only golden touch this Summer? This sheer shimmery stick will catch the sun and the eyes of onlookers with a complexion complementing copper glow.

Senna “Bonfire” Lip Lacquer ($20,

Not your average gloss, this vanilla flavored glaze is as hot as its name with an intense blood orange hue and emollient mango seed and shea butter.

Vault Tinted Lip Balm ($6.99,

With an active Summer social calendar try a new twist on a crimson lip that will go from barbecue to black tie while keeping lips super supple. Vault’s “Red Carpet” shade of tinted lip balm creates a bitten lip look while coconut oil, vitamins E & C and aloe offer lasting moisture.
