No way! How Yara Shahidi Wore A Bright Blue Makeup Look To The BET Awards And Still Looked Natural
You CAN wear bright eyeshadow in your no-makeup makeup look.
No matter what makeup Yara Shahidi is wearing, she still looks 100 percent natural. It’s as though she doesn’t have a lick of makeup on her face and every ounce of her glow comes from within. We wish! It helps that she is a natural beauty, but there are tricks to her magic. We talked to her makeup artist, Emily Cheng, about the products that she used on Shahidi at the BET Awards. The look was exclusively Chanel. Cheng paired the bold eyeshadow with a nude lip to keep Shahidi looking natural. “I also suggest using tightly wound cotton swabs with Le Bi-Phase Visage face makeup remover to sharpen and shape your liner if need be. Be sure to use the one for the face as it doesn’t have an oily finish. If you’re a winged liner fanatic, stock up on small craft/hobby cotton swabs to really perfect your lines, ” Cheng told JET.
Here are the products used to complete her makeup look:
Chanel Les 4 Ombres
Quadra Eyeshadow in Tissé Jazz includes two middle tones to color and contour, a deep shade to bring drama and a light shade to highlight. ” I pressed the lighter blue on the 1/4 of the liner from the inner corner. Then pressed the darker blue on the outer 1/4 of the liner and slightly blended the edges of the 3 colors,” said Cheng.
Chanel Ombre Premiere
This soft long-wear eyeshadow formula in Blue Jean is perfect to layer over an eyeshadow base for a bolder result. It also mattifies to prevent creasing. Cheng used this jar to create the shape of the wing.
Chanel Rouge Coco Gloss
This gloss in Caramel made the perfect nude for Shahidi. The formula is glossy without being sticky, making it ideal to layer over lipstick without mess.
Chanel Rouge Coco Shine
This formula in Golden Sand 537 was made to moisturize, which makes it the PERFECT lipstick for a natural look. Your nude will remain supple for hours.
