Wow, I just looked up to see the city around me covered in lights and hues of red and green. When did the holidays creep in?

I’m sure I’m not the only one surprised by how quickly this festive season showed up! But considering it’s my favorite time of year, I pride myself on having my go-to beauty tools for potlucks, parties, and pictures at the ready!

If your holiday social schedule is like most women, you’re preparing to show up at least twice a week for the remainder of this year at holiday shindigs of some sort — whether they be family gatherings, office parties, or gift swaps with the girlfriends. With often little time to consider a full wardrobe change, amping up one’s makeup can be a surefire way to show off your spirit in this busy season of celebration. Try out some of the below tips & tools for quick makeup upgrades that can get you “merry” in minutes:

Happy Holidays!

Scarlet Sippers:

Rudolph was on to something with his sleigh-leading nose. The warmth and boldness of red is always a winner during the holiday season. Set up your lips to sip some bubbly or egg nog with a rich scarlet and you’re sure to shine. Some festive picks include:

NARS Limited Edition Cinematic Lipstick in “Future Red”: Deep and lustrous, this sultry red was created for this holiday season’s sexiest looks. $26,

“Cosmo” by The Lip Bar: A rich and true red that will prove trusty all season long — pose with this pout for Christmas Eve pics or leave your mark on a lucky New Years Eve champagne flute. $20,

Glitter All The Way:

A little sparkle never hurt anyone. Pop your lids to party perfection with a quick pat or two of shimmery shadow.

Motives Cosmetics Gem Dust Eye Shadow in “24K”:  This warm, reflective shadow is hued to flatter nearly any skin tone as an all over lid look or contour accent in the crease or tear duct. $12,

MAC Pro Longwear Paint Pot in “Chilled On Ice”: Glide on this creamy eye shade for a rich golden shine. Apply over lid or use a liner brush to brighten and define the lower lashline. $20,

Lashing Around The Christmas Tree:

Sometimes there’s only time for a quick touch of glam. If that’s the case, give the gift of a lash bat with a flirty mascara or falsey addition.

Sephora Collection False Eyelashes in “Regal”: Tapered and natural, this strip lash can quickly add fullness and upgrade a “day look” for a night out in minutes. Apply to the upper lashline with your choice of adhesive, allow a few minutes of drying time, and take them for a ride! $10,

Too Faced “Better Than False Eyelashes” Mascara System: If you’re not savvy with strips & glue, worry not. Too Faced Cosmetics boasts this primer and mascara system for creating a lush lash in 2 simple steps. $35,
