Fifteen-year-old boy is only given six months to live ...
By Andrea Watson
A 15-year-old teen is being denied a heart transplant because his doctors say the DeKalb patient has a history of non-compliance, his parents tell WSB-TV in Atlanta. Though the on-the-record reason is that they fear he would not take his meds and adhere to requirements set forth by the hospital, family friends told the news station that the real reason Anthony Stokes is being denied is because of brushes with the law and poor academic performance. More on the story here.
Stokes has less than six months to live and has been receiving treatment at the Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta since July 14.
