Tell us your love story: Bride: Carlton and I first met at Cass Technical High School. We knew of each other, but we would’ve never considered dating each other 20 years ago.
When did you know that your partner was the one? Bride: I think we both knew when I took a job across the county in Las Vegas after dating for a year. As soon as I left, I think we realized that our relationship meant more to us than we initially thought. We both missed each other and after a year of being there, I moved back to Michigan in order for us to be together.
How did you propose? Bride: Carlton recreated our first date without me realizing it. He took me to the trendy area of Birmingham, MI, and proceeded to take me to the movies, for a walk through the shops and then to have a drink at the bar of a seafood restaurant just like on our first date. The twist was that he took me to my favorite restaurant, Cameron’s Steakhouse and there he proposed.
What was your most memorable moment from your wedding day? Bride: Our most memorable moment was that our transportation left us prior to getting all of our pictures so the groomsmen stopped a party bus and paid the girls on it to take us to our former high school in order to get our wedding shots. We all still laugh about that.
What’s the key to success in your relationship? Bride: The key to the success of our relationship is being open and honest with each other about everything that’s happening in our relationship.
